Project Management Header with checklists, targets, and lightbulbs

This workshop will equip youth service professionals with project management skills to drive meaningful change within their organizations.

Kick off the “Leading Change in Youth‑Serving Systems for Lasting Impact” training series with this foundational two‑day virtual workshop on project management for youth‑serving professionals. In this workshop, you’ll explore how to translate your most ambitious reform ideas into structured, sustainable initiatives—learning to craft youth‑centered logic models, set SMART goals, map and engage critical stakeholders, and perform pre-mortem risk assessments. Through real‑world case studies, guided exercises, and ready‑to‑use templates, you’ll walk away with an actionable mini‑project plan designed to drive equitable, data‑informed change in your own community.

The sessions will be held on Monday, June 23 and Tuesday, June 24, 2025 from 1:00PM to 3:30PM Eastern Time.

In this workshop, you will learn how to:

  • Access Ready-to-Use Templates and Resources: Receive customizable worksheets for Logic Models, SMART goals, stakeholder maps, and risk checklists, so you can immediately apply what you’ve learned and demonstrate early wins to your leadership.
  • Map Your Theory of Change: Clearly visualize your project’s journey using a youth service-specific Logic Model—so every stakeholder, from frontline staff to funders, shares a clear roadmap for success.
  • Set–and Smash–SMART Goals: Transform vague aspirations into Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, and Time-Bound objectives. You will walk away with concrete targets and accountability structures that keep your team focused and on schedule.
  • Engage Key Stakeholders for Maximum Buy-In: Learn to identify and prioritize the individuals and groups critical to your project’s success. You’ll gain tailored engagement strategies to secure champions at every level.
  • Proactively Mitigate Risks: Leverage a structured pre-mortem Risk Assessment to uncover potential challenges before they occur, allowing you to develop effective prevention and mitigation strategies.
  • Champion Sustainable Change: Integrate project management tools to design and implement initiatives that are more likely to have a lasting and equitable impact on the youth and families you serve.
